Love Shoes!!!!!

Carla Hermannsen - Model...

These are all images of the Carla Hermannsen who is a model and she works for three agencies Next London, Women Management Milan and Trump New York. She is 20 years old and from Denmark. I really like her shoots as she is very versatile but always looks fresh and innocent. I know she is like one of many models with a gorgeous face and skinny frame but there is something about her presence in her images why I like her so much I cant quite put my finger on it!! But I do think she fits many styles and would be easy to fit into any scene... The top image is a Polaroid of her and she still looks just as fresh and beautiful when she hasn't been styled or had her hair and make-up done. I really like how the Polaroid just catches from the shoulder up and after the demonstration we had in Adam's lecture I have become more interested in them kind of shots. It's definitely not forgiving as it is exactly what you see but is a good way to catch the moment.

Chanel!!!

This is the latest fragrance by Chanel it is the fresher and newer version of No.5, and Nicole Kidman was very well chosen for this campaign she is fresh looking and elegance just pours out of her.

Love the use of these mirrors in this shot, she looks so sultry and elegant...

What draws me to this picture is the lighting its just catching her face slightly which pulls me in then Im drawn to the brand name, then her pose it just fits perfectly. If I had never tried this perfume but I had seen this Ad I would imagine the perfume to make you feel sexy and beautiful as that is what feeling I get from looking at this image.
After yesterdays lecture I was trying to think what adverts I really like and models, I know Keira Knightley didn't start her career with modelling and is a famous actress but her look fits Chanel as a brand so well especially this perfume as you could imagine her wearing it, she is very elegant and modern, It is also one of my favourite perfumes. I do work on the Chanel counter over Xmas and have done for the last three years it is an amazing company to work for and everyone always has to be immaculate and that's just what I think of when I think of Chanel as a brand.

David Seidner

I accidently stumbled across this looking at different photographers work and I fell in love with the idea that fantastic fashion designers have actually created garments for these tiny wire figures and made them look amazing!! Also how David Seidner has captured them in the set up of an old theatre looks fab... who needs real models to capture the presence of a garment?! My favourite is the second one as it is a very glamourous garment and also how the shoot has been done really makes me concentrate on the different shapes and wire... Before I saw this I would of said I would never want to syle a manakin or figure always models as you can get emotion and more movement, but how this has been created and then presented has really changed my opinion.
More info below:

In 1944, the war-battered French couture industry decided to revive its international reputation by conceiving a small exhibition entitled Théâtre de la Mode. The exhibition organizer enlisted the major fashion designers of the day, including Jeanne Lanvin, Lucien Lelong, Elsa Schiaparelli, and Pierre Balmain to create outfits for small wire-frame dolls just over two feet tall.
The exhibition of over 230 dolls, displayed in artist-designed sets, opened in Paris on March 27, 1945 at the Museum of Decorative Arts. It was an instant sensation, and traveled to London, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Vienna, New York, and San Francisco. With the return of the French fashion industry, the dolls had completed their work and were donated to the Maryhill Museum near Portland, Oregon, where they disappeared from view.
Under an extraordinary set of circumstances in 1990, the dolls were rediscovered and returned to Paris, recoiffed and restyled for an exhibition at the Musée de la Mode. Because of his pioneering work with French fashion and historical gowns, David Seidner was asked to photograph the little dolls. Working in the rough interior of an abandoned theatre set, Seidner captured the essence of French style in dolls dressed in designs made on the eve of Christian Dior's New Look, which radically changed fashion in 1947.

Arthur Elgort

I really like the simplicity of this photo and how Kate Moss looks so glamorous. I definitely think that the red lip stick and the cigarette add a certain look to the whole photo, it reminds me of women of the 50's the whole glamour and rich look especially with her hair and how the strap has fallen on the top all the elements fit perfectly together and create this scene.

This photograph is of Lauren Hutton who was a very famous super model in the 70's and still is, this was taken in 1975 for Ultimo Revlon. I feel that it has a very classic element to it and because she is looking towards us but there is someone at the side of her trying to get a photo, it also feels very natural and not constructed. When I look at this photo I see glamour and elegance which appeals to me.

I think this photo of Kate Moss taken in 1993 in Paris is almost unbelievable as she is stood on the table with a cigarette in a posh cafe in Paris, while two posh looking business men are obviously trying to dine. But also it appeals to me as it actually looks like they are thinking 'what is she doing!' which I love and I think Arthur Elgort has captured it perfectly.

This is Kate Moss again in Nepal in 1993, I love this as it looks very urban and she looks very vunerable which you would be if you were sat on an elephant you are waiting for anything to happen, I have done it - it was scary:). But she also looks poised and is probably only thinking about getting a great shot so she can get down.

Lovely Leeds!!!

These photographs are all taken in Leeds, the top two are pictures of Farnley Park a couple of weeks ago - my dog flower is in the second one:). The third one is of Leeds Town Hall which has some amazing architectural features I love the lions. The forth one is Millennium Square in Leeds City Centre which is very busy usually cant remember when I took this but it looks very quiet and a sunny day so not recent ha ha. The last one is of Roundhay Park and it is a very beautiful place, I have done some photo shoots there but when I was at College.

Hedi Slimane

This is some of Hedi Slimane's work I like how the pictures are black and white as I think it captures the beauty of the model (Lara Stone) more especially with the highlights and shadows.... Both these stuck out to me as I think in some cases black and white can be more effective than colour. Also I can see definite emotions in each photo, in the one above she looks relaxed where as the one below is more tense.

Neil Stewart

Neil Stewart's work, I like his work as it looks natural but still captures a great emotion like two people have just been caught in the moment of romance, especially in these two shots. They also have an element of fantasy as I'm sure every girl would like to think this is how a romance/relationship was :).
